Scanned a Coffee? How to Find It Again in Beanly
You scanned a promising coffee while shopping, then put the bag back. A few days later, you want another look. Before taking another photo, check Past Scans in Beanly.
A completed scan gives you a coffee to revisit even if you did not immediately add it to your Shelf or Wishlist. Knowing where to look helps you return to the specific bag and decide whether it belongs in your next purchase.
Find the bag in a few steps
- From the main screen, open Wishlist.
- Switch to the Past Scans tab and open the coffee.
- Check the coffee name and roaster to confirm it is the bag you remember.
- Use Wishlist for a coffee you are considering, or Add to Shelf for one you have.
Past Scans is inside the Wishlist screen
Open Wishlist from the main screen, then tap Past Scans at the top. These are two tabs in the same screen. If you are looking only through Wishlist, you have not yet checked your scan history.
Tap a coffee to open its details. You can review a previous result there without starting a new scan just to see that coffee again.
Past Scans is useful when you finished scanning but had not decided what to do with the bag. Wishlist holds the coffees you deliberately save as possibilities. Your Shelf is where you keep the coffees you get and your experience of drinking them.
Confirm the particular coffee before choosing it
Use the coffee name and roaster together. A familiar bag design may jog your memory, but the name helps you distinguish two coffees from the same roaster.
Suppose you remember scanning an Ethiopian coffee but looked at two different roasters that day. Open the details and compare the coffee names instead of choosing by origin alone. If you still have access to the bag or its current roaster listing, compare the name there too.
If the photo is missing, read the name and available details rather than assuming the coffee is gone. Beanly can display a placeholder when a saved image is unavailable.
For your next scan, keep the specific coffee name readable in the front photo. Our scanning guide explains when the back label is worth including as well.
Give the rediscovered bag a useful next step
If you are still considering the coffee, open its Past Scan details and tap Wishlist. That puts it with the other bags you might want to try, where you can return before shopping.
If you already brought the bag home, choose Add to Shelf. Beanly offers Rate it Now or I'll do it later. For an unopened bag, choose the later option and rate it after tasting. You do not need to guess how much you will enjoy it just to save it.
A rediscovered scan is a starting point for the next purchase. Before buying, check the current product details, including whether it is whole bean or ground and whether it is decaf if that matters to you.

If you still cannot find the coffee
Check both tabs in the Wishlist screen, then look on your Shelf if you remember adding the bag there. A coffee you saved as a possibility may be easier to find in Wishlist than among the other bags you scanned.
Also consider whether the scan finished. Taking a photo and leaving before analysis completes is different from receiving a coffee result. This guide is for revisiting completed scans; it does not promise that an unfinished attempt will be in the list.
For a bag you have not scanned yet, you can start in Beanly without creating an account. Review the result when it is ready, then save it to Wishlist if you want to consider it later or to your Shelf if you have the bag.
Try this next: Open Wishlist, switch to Past Scans, and revisit one coffee you remember noticing. Confirm the bag, then save it to Wishlist if it is still a possibility or add it to your Shelf if you have it.
Bottom line: Past Scans helps you return to a coffee you already explored. Find the specific bag first, then decide what you want to do with it next.
