Use Favorites in Beanly to Remember Coffees Worth Buying Again
You finish a bag you enjoyed, try a few others, and later struggle to remember which coffee you wanted to buy again. A growing Shelf is a useful record, but sometimes you want a shorter view of the bags you would happily return to.
Favorites in Beanly can give you that view. Mark a coffee you enjoyed with a heart, then use the Favorites filter when you want to revisit those choices. A few words about how you drank each one make the list more useful when it is time to shop.
Turn an enjoyed bag into a useful reference
- Open the coffee on your Shelf and use the heart to mark it as a favorite.
- Return to the Shelf and select Favorites to see the coffees you marked.
- Keep your enjoyment rating and preparation note alongside the bag.
- Before buying again, choose for the drink you want and check the current bag.
Start with a coffee you have enjoyed
Think of a bag you would be pleased to have in the cupboard again. Perhaps it made a dependable breakfast coffee, or it was the one you kept choosing for a slow weekend cup. It does not have to be the most unusual or expensive coffee you have tried.
Open that coffee on your Beanly Shelf and check the name and roaster. Tap the heart at the top of its detail page. The selected heart turns red, and the coffee's Shelf card shows a heart too.
If you are starting a new Shelf, scan a bag and save it there first. You can begin using Beanly without creating an account. Leave the judgment about whether it is a favorite until you have tasted it.
Use the Favorites filter to find it again
Return to your Shelf and choose Favorites in the filter row above the coffee cards. This shows the Shelf coffees whose hearts you have selected. Choose All to return to the full Shelf.
The neighboring 4+ Stars filter answers a different question: which coffees have you rated four or five stars? A highly rated coffee appears there even if you have not given it a heart. It appears in Favorites only when you mark it as one.
For example, you might enjoy several bags enough to give them four stars, while using hearts for the ones you especially want to find again. You do not need to change a rating just to make a coffee appear in Favorites.
If Favorites is empty, switch to All and open a coffee you meant to mark. Check its heart, then return to Favorites. An empty filtered view does not by itself mean your Shelf is empty.
Keep favorites, ratings and shopping interest clear
Use your stars to record how much you enjoyed a coffee. Use the heart deliberately for coffees you like and want to keep in your Favorites view. A favorite can also contribute taste feedback in Beanly, so it is best reserved for actual enjoyment.
For an unfamiliar bag that merely sounds promising, use Wishlist. That keeps a future possibility separate from a coffee you already know you enjoy. Our Wishlist guide covers moving a bag to your Shelf when you get it.
Keep your rating honest even when your opinion changes. There is no need to keep a high rating because a bag used to be a favorite. If your cup also surprised you compared with its Beanly Match, our rating guide explains how to record that experience.
Save the reason you would return to it
A heart makes the coffee easy to find. A short Private Journal note helps you remember the particular cup behind it. Open the coffee and record the preparation or occasion you want to repeat.
An example might be: "Enjoyed as drip with a splash of milk; a good choice for my weekday mug." Another could be: "Liked this black in the pour-over; keep the grind and recipe from Saturday."
Include the actual recipe details if you need them to repeat the brew. Return using the back arrow to save your edits. Private Journal is your own record; its text does not enter Beanly's recommendations.
Choose a favorite for the coffee you want now
Before buying again, decide what you want to make. Stumptown's buying guide asks who the coffee is for and how it will be brewed, and distinguishes wanting something familiar from wanting to explore. Those questions work well when choosing among your own favorites too.
If you need a familiar morning coffee, revisit the bag and preparation you enjoyed for that routine. If you want something different, keep that favorite as a reference when asking a roaster for suggestions: describe what you liked and what you want to change.
Check the current bag or listing before purchasing. Confirm the specific coffee name, format or grind option, bag size and availability. Your saved experience helps you choose; the item you buy still needs to suit your plans.
Let the list change with your taste. Tap a selected heart again to remove that favorite marker. The coffee stays on your Shelf, along with its rating and notes, so you can keep the record without keeping every past favorite in the shorter view.
Try this next: Open one coffee you enjoyed on your Shelf, give it a heart, and add the preparation you would repeat. Then check the Favorites filter so you know where to find it before your next coffee purchase.
Bottom line: Favorites gives you a shorter view of coffees you have chosen to remember. Pair the heart with an honest rating and a useful private note, then return to that experience when choosing your next bag.
